Some pictures of our Halloween celebrations this year!
We kept up our family tradition of visiting a pumpkin patch even if it wasn't the same one we've gone to since Lily was born! We actually had our pick of them here...we passed 3 on the way to this one, but I think we made the right choice by continuing on. The fresh made pumpkin and huckleberry donuts we discovered were to die for! We do love good cookin'! Seriously - Mike could not get the huckleberry donuts out of his head. We looked it up and when he discovered that the donut vendor Glazed and Confused did not have a local shop and was just going to be at the pumpkin patch a little while longer...we made a special trip out to get more the following Monday! But donuts aside it was a huge patch and there were lots of fun things to do for the kids. I was a little surprised that my kids were some of the few dressed in Halloween garb. A stark contrast to visiting the local Farm in CA where it seemed like a sea of orange and black last year - I kid you not - hardly anyone wearing any other color. If you look close there is a wooden castle in the middle of a corn maze behind those cars. We opted out of that this year because it was not cheap and kinda huge for our little kids, but they had a fun play area that was like a pirate ship out front of it. We went on the jumbo slide --Sierra trying to climb back on it below.
We also did pony rides, and let the kids ride this homemade train they called 'Little Toot.' It looked like so much fun I seriously wished I could ride it. The kids in the back got to twist and bump around - (which is why Sierra got put toward the front).
Heading out!
The lady drove them around in circles and under a little tunnel and all around, over and over - They had a good time!
See those faces :)
The girls playing in and around a tiny cabin while their Dad and Grandma waited in line for food.
Spinning round and round the pole that held up a shade tent by the picnic tables. Glad they can be so entertained by little things!
These girls were running so fast from pumpkin to pumpkin I didn't get many good pictures of them out in the patch , and none of the family.
When we finally got Lily to settle on a pumpkin we were ready to head out.
Loved that they had all these wheelbarrow carts for everyone to borrow!
A lady who wrote a book about a school bus kitty gave us two of these little kitty buckets filled with candy corn (that Lily had her eye on) for the price of one, and sang us her "School Bus Kitty Ditty". It was really cute - she was really nice. Mike was so awesome singing along with her chorus and encouraging the girls to even though he does not like to sing and probably just wanted to get out of there. I love my man, he's a great dad! :)
